ADVOCACY WIN! HUD Commits to Moving Forward with Green Funding by Mid-February

In a court proceeding on January 5, the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the first time committed to a timeline for moving forward with the largest Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP) awards, called Comprehensive awards, since initially canceling the already-awarded funding early in 2025. After HUD initially halted the funds, a court ordered HUD to revive the program, including by developing new guidance for processing the Comprehensive awards. LeadingAge has urged HUD to restart the program, and we applaud HUD for moving forward to process the critical funding for affordable housing communities in climate-vulnerable areas.
