What does membership look like?
LeadingAge Nebraska, in partnership with our national affiliate, LeadingAge, represents nonprofit and mission-driven providers of aging services throughout Nebraska. Our members, located across the state, share a common commitment to serving Nebraska’s older adults. Membership in our Association offers a range of valuable benefits, including:
- Advocacy Our primary goal at LeadingAge Nebraska is to advocate for our members in the areas of regulation, legislation and any other issues that impact our greatest asset, our residents. We work with members of the Legislature, to advocate for members across Nebraska.
- Education & Networking Providing educational and networking opportunities in a variety of formats, topics, and settings is a top priority. Our approach to continuing education focuses on delivering state-approved programs that empower you to better serve your staff & residents. We offer numerous opportunities for you and your team to earn the continuing education credits you need, while enjoying the experience along the way.
- LeadingAge National Our National organization, LeadingAge, offers a number of highly important member services, learning opportunities, national advocacy, informed industry updates, and the ability to shape the future of aging services.
What membership is best for you and your organization?
Provider Membership
Membership to LeadingAge Nebraska is open to any provider of senior housing and services. Benefits include access to state and national resources from LeadingAge. Click below to learn more about what provider membership can do for you.
Business Associate Membership
Business Associate membership is open to any organization that provides products and services for the Aging Services Community. Business Associates are members of LeadingAge Nebraska. For more information on the benefits of Business Associate membership with LeadingAge Nebraska, click below.
Individual Membership
Individual membership is open to any person not affiliated with an organization eligible for member status and who has an interest in care and services for older adults. Individual Membership allows you to:

- Advocate Shape aging services in Nebraska through advocacy with our legislators
- Join National & local non-profit members in serving Nebraska elders
LeadingAge Nebraska Individual Membership is only $50.00 per year for qualifying individuals.
Student Membership
Student membership is open to any individual enrolled in a formal program providing training and preparation for employment in providing care and/or services to older adults. Membership is free to registered students.
Membership Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
I thought only non-profit organizations could be members of LeadingAge. Is that true?
Historically, LeadingAge Nebraska only accepted non-profit organizations. This changed in 2023. LeadingAge Nebraska now accepts all types of organizations, including for-profit organizations. The only restrictions we have are that you are mission-focused and not publicly traded.

Which types of service organizations qualify for membership?
LeadingAge represents the entire eco-system of aging services. In Nebraska, our membership is largely made up of nursing homes, assisted living, independent living and home and community-based service providers. We continue to grow our presence among home health, hospice, and housing organizations, and we also represent several Area Agencies on Aging. We welcome opportunities to engage with additional service lines and mission-driven organizations serving older adults.
What types of memberships does LeadingAge Nebraska offer?

LeadingAge Nebraska has provider memberships (those providing direct service to older adults) and business associate memberships (those supporting aging service providers with goods or services). We also have individual memberships for those that have are retired or do not have another eligible connection for membership. LeadingAge Nebraska also provides students (both full and part-time) that are seeking a career in aging services with free membership. Members must be at the tier defined in the by-laws.
How many people can I have on my account?
Organizational memberships (provider and business associate) are open to your entire organization. Most of our members include contact information for their management team, but there is no limit on the number of people on an account.
What geographic area does LeadingAge Nebraska serve?
LeadingAge Nebraska serves the entire state of Nebraska. A large majority of our members are rural, single-site providers. Our team regularly visits communities across the state to meet with members and provide education and support.

Do I have to have a separate membership for LeadingAge National?
No. Membership with LeadingAge National is included for provider members and students. Business associate and individual memberships are state-only and do not include access to LeadingAge National resources. Organizations in those membership categories may choose to purchase a separate membership directly with LeadingAge National.
What is included in my membership?

Provider memberships include full access to the education, advocacy, networking, and collaboration opportunities offered through both LeadingAge Nebraska and LeadingAge National. There are many ways to get involved and countless opportunities for education and support.
Do I have to pay for education?
LeadingAge Nebraska and LeadingAge National provide many free education offerings and resources to members. Most education offerings include a discounted member rate, typically priced at approximately half the non-member rate.
Is there a member directory available?
Yes, we maintain a membership directory for providers and business associates on our website. Some directories are only available to members.

How much does provider membership cost?
Provider member dues are based on the provider service revenue of your organization in the most recent fiscal year. If your organization completes a 990 Form with the IRS, this can be found on Line 9. For for-profit and governmental organizations, we ask for the income you received from providing services related to membership. Your combined state and national membership will fall in one of ten tiers based on program service revenue. In some cases, membership dues are based on a flat fee based on the type of service provided.
Is membership available for business partners or vendors?

Yes. Business Associate memberships are available in tiered options, allowing organizations to choose the level of benefits and engagement opportunities that best fit their needs.
Are membership dues refundable?
No, membership dues are paid annually and are not refundable.
How does LeadingAge keep members informed about regulatory changes?
LeadingAge Nebraska and LeadingAge National regularly communicate with members about regulatory changes. We do this through virtual meetings, newsletters, member alerts and regular meetings. We’ll make sure you’re connected to all member communications so you don’t miss important updates, opportunities, and resources.

What makes LeadingAge Nebraska different from other associations?
LeadingAge is the only national association representing the entire aging services ecosystem. This uniquely positions LeadingAge to support all types of services. In addition, LeadingAge specializes in supporting non-profit organizations. We have tools and resources that are specifically designed for this group of providers. Our members across Nebraska view us as a trusted resource and partner, providing support across a wide range of topics and challenges.
We’re looking for access to required state training. Is that something LeadingAge Nebraska offers?

LeadingAge Nebraska offers opportunities for members to obtain several mandated trainings.
- Nurse Aide & Med Aide Training: We partner with Avera Education and Staffing Solutions, which offers Nurse Aide and Medication Aide training. These courses are offered fully online and are designed to help prepare your community for approval of the onsite portion of the training. Members receive a discount on the use of this training platform.
- Nurse Aide & Med Aide Testing: LeadingAge Nebraska members can participate in our network of members supporting members. LeadingAge Nebraska is a state approved testing organization for both nurse aide and medication aides in Nebraska. Talk to the team to learn more.
- Social Service Designee: LeadingAge Nebraska is approved to provide the Social Service Designee course. This course will be available on demand starting in 2026 and is also presented in person.
- Assisted Living Administrator Initial Training: LeadingAge Nebraska is an approved provider of the Assisted Living Administrator training for the state of Nebraska. This course will be available on demand starting in 2026 and will also be presented in person.
Does LeadingAge Nebraska have a lobbyist?
LeadingAge Nebraska has a paid lobbyist that assists us with our legislative work throughout the year. LeadingAge Nebraska does most of our work through grassroots advocacy with our members, but our lobbyist supports formal work we do in the legislature.

Who governs LeadingAge Nebraska?
LeadingAge Nebraska is governed by a Board of Directors that is made up of members of the association. The bylaws of the association guide the formation of the board and terms of board members.
How can we maximize the value of our membership?

Don’t let your membership become the gym membership you never use. Members are encouraged to stay engaged by participating in informational sessions and trainings, keeping us informed of staff changes, inviting us to visit their communities, and becoming fully involved with the association. In addition, our team is available to help members navigate individual questions and concerns.
When will we receive our renewal notice?
Memberships operate on an annual calendar-year basis. Renewal notices will be sent to the billing contact for the organization in December and are due in January. Early renewals will receive additional discounts for the annual conference in March. Renewal notices are an ideal time to update your team members’ and organization information. These are sent via email, and dues can be paid by ACH, credit card, or mailing a check to the office.
