League of Human Dignity Service Coordination Will End

The Division has decided to resume providing Service Coordination for some Aged & Disabled Waiver participants. Notice was provided to their staff today that the state will assume Service Coordination for all clients currently served by a League of Human Dignity provider. This does not affect the AAAs.

Transition will continue until 3/31/26, as the end date for the League's Service Coordination responsibility will be 4/1/26. They hope to hire many of the LHD staff who are performing well and want to move to the state, so that families are not disrupted unless they choose a new coordinator. Our ultimate goal is to maintain consistent care for everyone with minimal to no disruptions. If you are a provider whose resource development is through the League of Human Dignity, the state will contact you soon to determine whether the AAA will take over or DHHS will.

LeadingAge Nebraska received this notice late on Monday which was also sent to providers and families. There is no clear indication of why this is occurring. While we do not anticipate that this will impact many of our members, we have significant concerns about the state taking over the role of service coordination for this population, and if it will eventually impact AAA services. We will continue to meet with the department regarding this matter.
