Cody Byrns

The morning session will be headlined by Cody Byrns, a renowned keynote speaker, performer, best-selling author, and life coach. Byrns, who has overcome immense personal adversity, will captivate the audience with his powerful message of resilience and the transformative power of embracing one's scars. Drawing from his own experiences and extensive research, Byrns will impart practical strategies for cultivating an unshakable mindset, unlocking newfound freedom, and turning adversity into an advantage.

Following Byrns' inspiring sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from Nebraska State Trooper Keith Bell, who will present the Civilian Response to Active Killer Events (CRAKE) program. This vital program, developed to provide information on awareness and steps a civilian can take to increase their safety in these horrific situations, is particularly relevant for aging services providers who bear the responsibility of safeguarding their vulnerable clients.

The symposium will conclude with a discussion featuring experts from the UNMC Center for Preparedness and Emergency Response Solutions, who will share their expertise on emergency preparedness and response. In an era where natural disasters and other emergencies have become increasingly common, this session will equip attendees with the knowledge and strategies needed to ensure the continuity of care and the protection of their residents, even in the face of the unexpected.

By bringing together this remarkable lineup of speakers and subject matter experts, the 2025 Fall Symposium is poised to be a game-changing event for aging services providers in Nebraska.
