The Director of Nursing will be responsible for all planning, scheduling and management within the nursing department of our facility. This candidate must be able to provide leadership to the nursing staff and be able to teach and mentor staff.

Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.  Read, write, speak and understand English language.  Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.  Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, personnel, and the general public.  Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.  Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.  Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc, that are necessary for providing quality care.

At least two years of managerial and clerical experience as well as Skilled Nursing Facility experience would be preferred.

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the health information in accordance with federal and state guidelines, as well as in accordance with our established policies and procedures, to assure that a complete medical program is maintained. Coordinate the facility quality assurance program.  Maintain the electronic health record system.

  • High School Diploma required
  • Previous Clerical Experience – healthcare preferred
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology required
  • Proficient use of Personal Computer required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel required
  • RHIT(Registered Health Information Technician) or 2 years Medical Records experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Disease Processes required
  • ICD-10 coding knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of E.H.R. (electronic health record) systems and data entry preferred.

Responsibilities:
