Preventing and Responding to Respiratory Infections and Outbreaks in Long-Term Care: Recording Now Available
Project Firstline from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) hosted a webinar on January 27 on respiratory illnesses in long-term care. This webinar provided information on respiratory illness recognition, considerations for testing, treatment, and vaccination, and infection control measures. The webinar also reviewed resources available for healthcare professionals, residents, and their families. View the recording of this webinar here.
Nebraska Respiratory Outlook
Currently there are 5 facilities with an influenza outbreak impacting 18 residents and 15 facilities experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak impacting 95 residents. The respiratory risk has remained steady for the past several weeks and will likely continue.

CMS Permitting More Services to be Offered Outpatient CMS has proposed its Calendar Year 2027 Outpatient Prospective Payment System rule to continue to phase out procedures and services from the Inpatient Only List. These are services/procedures that previously could only be provided on an inpatient hospital basis. These changes have potential impacts on Skilled Nursing Facility and Home Health agency admissions.
