Over 30 CMS F tags are being updated or added as part of the Phase 3 Rules of Participation effective October 2022. We will cover the updates to ensure participants remain in regulatory compliance. There will be breakout sessions to give participants a chance to think like a surveyor and evaluate compliance.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Participants will verbalize understanding of the regulatory changes for Phase 3 RoPs.
  • Participants will be able to evaluate side rails in their facilities to ensure they are safe and compliant.
  • Participants will be able to ensure they are providing the newly required trainings to all staff.

SPEAKER: Patrick Campbell, RN BSN, Training Coordinator, CertiSurv, LLC: Patrick Campbell has more than 18 years of experience as a surveyor of Long-Term Care, Assisted Living and Intermediate Care facilities. This includes training new surveyors and managing Independent Dispute Resolution appeals. He has over seven years of experience managing national accounts, and maintaining relationships with corporate staff to provide guidance and data on managing quality assurance across multiple regions and States nationwide.

Mr. Campbell has ten years of experience training, implementing and providing support for hundreds of long-term care centers utilizing survey preparation/quality assurance software. He is certified as 1 of 10 QIS Master Trainers by CMS. Assisted training surveyors in 15 States and multiple CMS regional offices. He passed the federal qualification test (SMQT) to work independently as a surveyor showing in depth knowledge of federal regulations. He is also licensed as a Registered Nurse since 1993 with experience as an ADON and DON in LTC.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Assisted living & skilled nursing administrators and staff, including nursing leaders and directors, social services & other interdisciplinary members.

CONTINUING EDUCATION: This event is scheduled in a virtual, live-streaming webinar format. 4 hours of continuing education from Nebraska DHHS Regulation and Licensure, Board of NHA has been approved for this webinar. Appropriate records will be maintained for other disciplines to receive credit from their credentialing organizations. Participants must stay for the entire event to receive credit. Attendance will be verified before credit is issued.

SPLIT/SHARE POLICY: Splitting or sharing a registration is not permitted. Registrations are to be used by the same person for the entire event even if the person is able to attend only part of the program or conference. Only one user login can be used to sign on to a device at one time (laptops or desktop computers strongly recommended).

CANCELLATION POLICY: Registration deadline for the series is October 24, 2022. No-shows will be billed. No refunds for failure to log-in at the time of the event. No refunds will be given, but substitutions are welcome and must be sent to Natalie McCormick at [email protected].
